D&C stands for Dilation and Curettage. Its a surgical procedure for women. Im learning some shit. im going to name all the instruments on this table:
Weighted Speculum
St Tenaculum
Right Angle Retractor
Uterine Sound ( Dip Stick)
Dilators ( small to large)
Goodell Dilator
Sharp Curettes
Sponge Stick
Uterine Dressing Forceps
Polyp Forceps

This completes a D&C Set.

The thought of going into the OR can be frightening. Ive have a few surgeries and I always had a little anxiety before surgery.
We talked about that in SUR 101 "The Surgical Patient" Some people get scared and all that, and as health care professionals its our job to make the patient comfortable. Its common to give a patient a sedative, like valium, or versed to keep the surgical patient calm. We use some inhalants too.
I do understand how you feel. The fear of the unknown is something serious. But depending on your illness, condition or whatever, there are other alternatives.
I have back and knee problems and surgery was an option. I refused and did physical therapy and exercise instead. It helped a lot. They even tried to make me , mIZZJUICYFLAVA, use a walking cane! lol!,
Well I hope nothing happens to you that you have to get major surgery any time soon.
i've only had surgery once for a decaying tooth when i was 5 and all i remember was wondering why i had to put on a paper dress and then waking up in my mother's car while it was raining outside
i'm sick now with the common cold because someone passed something around on campus
last time i got sick, i was floored because of how heavy my head felt and i couldn't even look at food without running for the bathroom
it isn't that bad now and i hope that it doesn't get worse
Well you will probably be fine. Just wash your hands and eat anything with vitamin C. Colds and such happens when school starts. It happened to me.
Yeah after one procedure, I woke and my dad was chewing gum like a horse. Imagine waking up to a huge black man chewing and staring at you. *shivers*
